Já devem saber que eu nunca me dei bem com desenhos reslistas. Só desenho retratos digitais e mesmo assim ... Enfim, embora tivesse gostado de conseguir retratar realisticamente os meus personagens, sabia que não tinha as capacidades necessárias para tal.
Por isso experimentei a coisa mais próxima: um estilo um pouco mais realista, sem no entanto o ser totalmente. Atenção que não usei referências fotográficas e muito menos modelos reais. Foi tudo a olhómetro e saiu da imaginação. Ou, melhor dizendo, só usei referências na parte final, para melhorar o cabelo e para ver mais ou menos o modelo do casaco. Mas se calhar devia ter usado para o rosto também. Talvez numa outra tentativa o faça.

The day before yesterday, it was late in the evening when I picked up a drawing board and started working on this, for the next two hours (way past bedtime).
As you probably already know, I never was much good with realistic portraits. The only portraits I make are digital, ans even then ... though I'd really love to realistically portray my characters, I just never had the skills for that.
So, I went with the next best thing: a more realistic style, that actually wasn't realistic. Please note that I used no photo references or live-references for this work, except at the end, to improve the hair and to have an idea for the jacket. But maybe I should've used a reference for the face as well. I probably will, next time.
This was the end result.
Here I portrayed Gabriel, before he was turned into a Sekhmet, in my novel "Angel Gabriel - Blood Bound" (coming soon). And that's why he looks so normal, when compared to all the other illustrations I've shown of him, so far.
